The artist, John Beardman, is running an interesting exhibit called "A Song of the Woods".
The exhibit will run in conjuntion with the 2008 Celtic Colours celebration, from Oct. 10th through Oct 18th. The installation includes some 25 or so large paintings displayed in the woods surrounding his house in Long Point.
Mr Beardman says the woods will be open at all times, and he will be receiving guests from 9:00 a.m. to 12 a.m noon each day.

I spent the weekend in Mabou, Nova Scotia which is not far from Long Point (neighboring community in Cape Breton), absorbing some of the beautiful autumn colors and harvesting some of the Apple Cider I pressed a bit over a month ago. A high wind (95 kms) and rain blew in friday night and raised the level of the water in the wharf about a foot (a storm surge). I helped my brother-in-law Ryan tie a fishing boat to the wharf that had broken one of its mooring lines and, with one frayed line left, was in danger of breaking free and banging into some of the other fishing boats. The weather was fairly intense but Ryan had oilers and fisherman boots that I could wear which made it enjoyable to pull in and tie up the dangling fishing boat while the late-night wind and water pressed against us.
